Welcome to East Side!

East Side Elementary is fondly known as “the neighborhood little red brick schoolhouse.” For generations, Jacksonville residents have cherished memories of attending East Side in the original schoolhouse before our beautiful new facility was built. Though our building has changed, the rich tradition, pride, and sense of community that define East Side remain as strong as ever.

Words from our students…

“I THRIVE at JISD because we have an incredible support system of JISD teachers and staff. No matter what is going on in your personal life, as soon as you walk through those doors, a teacher is always ready to welcome you with a smile and encouraging words. Our teachers are so giving and all we have to do is receive. We truly have the best of the best in JISD!”
