The Applied Learning Community is now entering its 13th year in JISD. The program utilizes Purpose-Based Learning and encourages children to learn both independently and as team members in a stimulating environment in preparation to be successful global citizens.

At East Side, we focus on meeting the needs of all students. We are proud of our incredible staff who give 100% to ES students every day. They are the BEST, from our cafeteria friends to our custodial staff, classroom aides, and admins.

East Side is fondly known as the "neighborhood little red brick schoolhouse". Generations of Jacksonville residents remember attending East Side Elementary in the old schoolhouse before our excellent new facility was built. A lot of tradition and memories reside here!

WE CAN DO HARD THINGS is an often-used phrase at East Side. A beloved teacher instilled this belief, and it became the battle cry of our school!
