Hi! I'm Randa Parker. This is my second year teaching music at East Side and my eighth year in education. Because I began singing in church and taking piano lessons at a young age, I quickly cultivated a love for music early in life. I began playing the trumpet in beginner band as a 5th grader and shortly after decided I wanted to do something in the musical field for the rest of my life.

I attended Kilgore College where I was a member of the concert band, jazz band, keyboard ensemble, and the marching band, where I served as drum major. After graduating from Kilgore in 2011, I continued my study of music education at The University of Texas at Tyler where I played in the wind ensemble and brass quintet. I graduated from UT Tyler in the spring 2013 and began teaching elementary music that fall.

 I'm excited about this year and the opportunity to develop musicianship in young students!
